Celebrating Canada Day in North Vancouver
The Shriners are revved up, are you? On July 1, the annual North Shore Canada Parade hits the streets at 9:30 a.m.
Starting at 13th Street and Grand Boulevard, the popular parade, which includes more than 70 entries — everything from floats and antique cars to guys on mini motorcycles — heads west to Lonsdale, then turns right on Lonsdale up to 17th Street before turning left on 17th towards Mahon Park.
Prior to the parade, you can enjoy a pile of pancakes from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Grand Boulevard Park and 14th Street. Hosted by the Mount Seymour Lions Club, all proceeds from the breakfast will be donated to Family Services of the North Shore, Parkgate Youth Services and Hollyburn Youth Services.

After the parade, you can head down to Waterfront Park for more Canada Day fun from noon to 4 p.m. The free event delivers tons of food, fun and entertainment for all ages. This year’s entertainment includes, among others, the Shin Myung Korean Drum Group, J.P. Fell Pipe Band, Pro Arte Maypole Dancers, North Shore Celtic Ensemble, hoop dancing by Manuela and the Eire Born Irish Dancers.
