Parkgate Seniors Wellness Park reopens in North Vancouver
The Parkgate Seniors Wellness Park is resurfaced and reopen.
First opened in 2009, the park caters to the needs of seniors with unique equipment that can be used for cardio, strength, flexibility and rehabilitation. It also includes a 80-metre walking path around the perimeter. This summer health and fitness consultants will be at the park to teach users how to properly train with the equipment.
“This Park provides a healthy opportunity for our seniors to get outside and be active,” said DNV District Mayor Richard Walton in a release. “We know how important exercise is and this is one way we’re helping our residents to enhance their lifestyles.”
Upgrades at the seniors park were made possible through a community amenity contribution from Pacific Arbour Retirement Communities ($62,000) and grant from the Tire Stewardship BC ($21,309).
