The countdown to Pumpkin Fest
Longtime West Vancouver residents Bill and Sandy Chapman like countdowns.
And if you've driven past the corner of Taylor Way and Duchess Avenue you've probably seen their creative handiwork.
Over the past four years they've created large signs to countdown the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, Canucks playoff games and Christmas.
And earlier this month, they unveiled their latest: a large sunflower clock to count down to the second annual Pumpkin Fest, which takes place Oct. 13 and 14 at West Vancouver's Community Centre and the Seniors Activity Centre.
The festival includes a family golf day, dance, workshops and lots of free activities for the entire family. Funds raised from last year's festival went towards providing an accessible lift for the Aquatic Centre, as well as investments in programs and other amenities at the new community centre.
