Are North Shore residents healthy?
How healthy are North Shore residents?
A new survey by Vancouver Coastal Health is asking people 18 and older questions about influences on their health and well-being.
The survey, which is available until Dec. 16, will be used to guide services in North and West Vancouver and Bowen Island by making recommendations to the North Shore Congress' Child and Family Friendly Community Charter.
“It’s important to gather this information so that we can ensure that we are offering relevant and appropriate programs and services to North Shore residents,” said Dr. Jat Sandhu, regional director for the public health surveillance unit.
While provincial and national surveys provide some insight through data on a larger geographical level, the North Shore Wellness Survey will provide more detailed health information about North Shore residents.
“The survey data will help both Vancouver Coastal Health and North Shore municipalities set priorities and allocate resources, contributing to health improvements, reductions in inequalities and more efficient use of health care and municipal dollars," Sandhu continued.
The survey, which takes 15 minutes to complete, is available online at www.vch.ca/northshoresurvey.
Everyone who takes it will be entered in a draw for an iPad, a $200 grocery store gift card and passes to Grouse Mountain.
