Heritage Fair rings in 10th anniversary
History buffs are invited to take a step back in time this weekend at the 10th annual Sea to Sky Regional Heritage Fair.
The event, which takes place in Lynn Valley this Saturday, May 7, will feature a more than 30 heritage-themed activities and performances for families and more than 100 history projects from students across the North Shore and Howe Sound.
For kids, there will be lots of fun activities, including panning for gold with Yukon Dan and confectionary creations with the Marzipan Man.
Adults, meanwhile, can check out some of the vintage vehicles on display — including a 1936 dairy truck, antique cars and classic British motorcycles — as well as performances by the North Shore Celtic Ensemble, the Delbrook Scottish Dancers and the Kereshmeh Persian Dancers.
For the first time the fair will also include an exhibition exploring the heritage of local First Nations.
The Heritage Fair runs this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the North Vancouver Museum and Archives and Lynn Valley Elementary School.
The event is hosted jointly by the NVMA, the West Vancouver Museum, the Britannia Mine Museum, and the schools in the Sea to Sky Region.
