The manicured claws are coming out.

West Vancouver will be front and centre when The Real Housewives of Vancouver reality TV show premieres on April 4th on Slice. A handful of local retailers and restauranteurs have already been boasting about their business's five minutes in the spotlight.

And for months the community has been abuzz with rumours as to who will represent West Vancouver's socialites in the spinoff of The Housewives franchise.

Drum roll, please: Jody Claman and Ronnie Negus are West Vancouver's 'Real Housewives'.

Claman is a fashionista who has gone from rags-to-riches. She was a single mom with $800 to her name when she founded Jody’s Fine Foods. Today she owns an equally successful boutique — the Glass House —  dotted with luxury, high-end threads.

Her funny, feisty, no-nonsense, tell it like it is personality is sure to entertain. In a promo for the show she refers to herself as "Martha Stewart on acid".

Her daughter Mia is also along for the reality TV ride, hobnobbing at social events with her mom.

Negus lives in a gated compound in Lions Bay — four houses side-by-side — owns a private jet, a yacht, oh yeah, and a 200-acre Napa Valley vineyard. Mother of four, ranging in age from five to 23, Negus considers herself a domestic goddess. She is also the alpha female of the Housewives group.

Negus is a board member for the BC Centre for Ability, which supports children with disabilities, a charity that is close to her heart.

The local ladies join a cast of five housewives that also includes Christina Kiesel, a free-spirited jet-setter; Mary Zilba, a singer and former pageant queen; and Reiko MacKenzie, an adrenaline junkie with a need for speed.

Tune in to Slice every Wednesday starting April 4 (the premiere episode starts at 9 p.m, subsequent episodes start at 10 p.m.) for the latest saga involving The Real Housewives of Vancouver.

And pick up a copy of the latest West Vancouver Living magazine in April featuring a candid interview with Claman and Negus.
