Golfing for the entire family in West Vancouver
Golf isn’t typically thought of as a family sport. But that’s about to change.
On Oct. 13, the second annual Pumpkin Fest Family Golf Day takes place at Ambleside Par 3 in West Vancouver.
On that day, the seaside course will be redesigned for family fun. District of West Vancouver manager of parks Dan Hanegard and Gleneagles pro James Presnail are rearranging the course so that it will boast four zones that each include three holes and golf activities, plus prizes and food.
“As more families have less and less time together, the idea of sending dad or mom out for five hours alone on the course on Saturday morning becomes less and less appealing,” Presnail said in a release. “We love an event like this that the entire family can participate in that is fun for the novices while still providing the more experienced golfers in the family with a real opportunity to work on their game.”
Golf Day, presented by Pacific Arbour Retirement Communities, kicks off Pumpkin Fest, which runs Oct. 13-14 in West Vancouver. Along with the golf day, there will also be the Pumpkin Fest Family Dance, workshops and tons of other free activities. Funds raised benefit the West Vancouver Community Centres Society.
