Mounties looking for missing North Van man
North Vancouver RCMP are asking for help in finding a man who has been missing since early Wednesday morning.
Police say 44-year-old James (Jim) Barr left his family's home near Grouse Mountain around 8 a.m. May 18 and hasn't been seen or heard from since.
Barr is believed to be on foot without access to a vehicle, said RCMP spokesman Cst. Geoff Harder in a press release.
"The North Vancouver RCMP share in the family's concern for Mr. Barr," said Harder. "It is out of character for Mr. Barr to be out of contact with his family. As time goes by our concern only grows."
Harder added that police do not suspect foul play in the disappearance.
"At this point we only want to verify that he is okay, as we have no reason to believe that his disappearance is linked with any crime," Harder said.
Barr was last seen wearing a black jacket, light plaid shirt and dark tan pants. He is described as Caucasian, five-foot-nine, weighing 180 pounds.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311.
