Man's body found on Cypress Mountain
While police search the area where a man's body was found on Cypress Mountain on Tuesday afternoon, it's hoped a pending autopsy will help with identification.
The investigation is being conducted by West Vancouver Police and the Vancouver Police Department's homicide squad. Because it's a suspicious death, a West Vancouver Police detective has been seconded to the case as part of a working agreement between the two departments.
WVPD forensic identification officers will continue to work at the scene Wednesday. The man's body was found by trail maintenance volunteers shortly before 5:30 p.m. on July 12.
The body has been removed and police are continuing to secure the scene and surrounding area. Cypress Mountain Road is closed at the Hollyburn Cabins Access until further notice.
