Arson arrest made in North Vancouver
North Vancouver RCMP arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with an early-evening house-fire on Monday.
The man remains in police custody after he was taken to hospital with burns to his hands as a result of the blaze.
North Vancouver firefighters were able to quickly suppress the fire and conduct a search of the two-storey wooden home, which sustained significant damage to the first level.
"Fortunately no one was home at the time of the blaze,’" said Cpl. Richard De Jong of the North Vancouver RCMP. "The unfortunate part is that this fire is being investigated as arson."
Police say the man in custody is a relative of the family who resides at the fire damaged home.
More details to come.
