North Van RCMP shuts down pair of grow-ops
North Vancouver Mounties have busted two marijuana grow-ops over the past two months, one of which has resulted in the recommendation of several drug charges against two North Van residents.
The first investigation happened on Feb. 16, in a home in the 200-block of West Balmoral Road. According to an RCMP press release, 182 plants were found inside the residence. Mathew Burgess, 35, and Natsumi To, 27, both of whom police found inside the home, were arrested on scene. Charges have been recommended to the Crown counsel office in North Vancouver.
The second happened on March 7, at a home in the 1000-block of Whitchurch Street, where 691 plants were seized by police. Police say their investigation is still underway but arrests are pending.
Anyone with information about the grow-ops or other drug activity is being asked to call the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 if one wishes to remain anonymous.
