UPDATED: Photos of suspect in West Van Safeway robbery released
West Vancouver police are investigating the alleged March 31 armed robbery of Ambleside’s Safeway store.
According to a WVPD press release, the suspect is a heavy-set male, approximately five-feet nine-inches tall, between 45-60 years old.
Police say the suspect entered the store at about 7:30 p.m., confronted the manager, advised it was a robbery and “presented what appeared to be a firearm.”
The man took an unknown amount of money and left on foot. No one was injured.
Witnesses have been interviewed but police are asking anyone with information to call WVPD headquarters at 604-903-7300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
