North Van RCMP warn public after brazen sex attack on teenager
The North Vancouver RCMP are warning the public after a brazen sexual assault on a teenager in her Capilano Road home.
At approximately 12:30 p.m. Thursday, the North Van Mounties say a man knocked on the door of a detached home in the 4000 block of Capilano Road, telling the lone teenage girl in the residence that he was there to do contract work that her parents were aware of.
When the girl let the suspect in, he proceeded to sexually assault her, the North Vancouver RCMP said in a press release Friday.
The perpetrator is not known to the victim nor to her family.
All investigative techniques are being employed in this investigation and a full description and composite drawing of the suspect will be released soon, said North Van RCMP spokesman Cpl. Richard De Jong in the release.
“We want to warn the public but we also want to encourage anyone with any information that may assist us in locating the suspect, to call the North Vancouver detachment,” De Jong said. “The police are advising all North Vancouver citizens to be extra vigilant when allowing strangers onto their property or into their residence, for whatever reason.”
Anyone who may know anything about this individual or incident is asked to call the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
