Youth film fest ready to rock

The red carpet is ready to roll out and 30 students are holding their breath as they go head-to-head at the Explore North Shore Youth Film Festival.

With four categories — Grades 4 to 7, 8 to 10, 11 to 12 and a French Canadian showcase, 19 films are on the judges' list.

Director Bruce Mohun, producer Sheona MacDonald, president of Looking Glass Productions Ltd. Dan Moscrip, creative director for The Eyes Television Production Ltd. Stan Feingold, North Shore Studio president Peter Leitch and Capilano University Film Centre director Bill Thumm will be judging the competition.

Two-time Olympian freestyle mogul skier John Smart will be speaking at the free event, which takes place on Monday, Feb. 15, at the West Vancouver Community Centre at 6:30 p.m.

Here's a sneak peek of what's to come. Check out the video The Fall by Jocelyn Poirier-Hardy, Liam and Tom Fannin, Quinn and Jennifer Fildi.
