Olympic flame arrives in Horseshoe Bay
The Olympic flame arrived in Horseshoe Bay early this morning.
After a short stint on Bowen Island, the flame entered the bay at 7 a.m. aboard B.C. Ferries. It was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd and three torchbearers.
The flame travelled up Royal Ave. before being shuttled to Xwemelch'stn - Capilano Reserve.
At Chief Joe Mathias Centre a "Flame Blessing" was performed. The torch then continued on its journey to Lonsdale Quay. The flame is scheduled to travel around North Vancouver today, ending its trip in West Vancouver this evening.
Starting at 6 p.m. a large celebration will take place at the West Vancouver Community Centre, with the flame arriving around 8 p.m.
